Baltic: The happiest people live in Lithuania

The report supported by the United Nations states that Lithuania ranked 60th in the World Happiness Index and comes ahead of the other Baltic States.

According to the World Happiness Report Lithuania was ranked higher than Latvia (68th), Estonia (72nd) and neighbouring Belarus (61st), but lower than Russia (56th) and Poland (57th).

The report’s authors found that the happiest people live in Denmark, Switzerland, Iceland, Norway and Finland, while people in Burundi, Syria, Togo, Afghanistan, and Benin are the least happy.

The factors that influence the happiness are GDP per capita, life expectancy, perceived absence of corruption in government, perceived freedom to make life decisions, generosity, and social support.
