Combining Cold War tactics with modern technology, Lithuania is fortifying its border with Belarus: dragon’s teeth, bunkers, and special forces in secret positions are designed to repel hybrid threats.
The defensive strategy called the “forest line” includes camouflaged positions, drone surveillance, and satellite reconnaissance. A central element is a new operational reserve consisting of professional soldiers and trained volunteers.
The Defense Ministry is also intensifying cooperation with NATO partners like Germany and Poland, which provide logistical and intelligence support.
Critics fear escalation, but according to polls, over 70% of the Lithuanian population supports measures to strengthen defense.
“Fortress Lithuania” is becoming reality. Faced with growing uncertainties in Eastern Europe, the country demonstrates determination to protect its sovereignty – with forest, steel, and strategic foresight.
