Lithuanian actress Julija Steponaitytė took best actress award at Stockholm Film Festival for her appearance at Alantė Kavaitė’s film Sangailė’s Summer

The film Sangailė’s Summer tells the story of a seventeen-year-old Julia, whose passion for aerobatic aircraft is overshadowed by her fear of heights. She finally succeeds to overcome it with the help of her new friend Austė.

the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences nominated the film for the line-up in the best foreign language film category.

The film was also selected by the European Film Academy Board as one of the 52 best European films.

Nor did it miss the attention in the homeland: in Silver Crane Awards in May it was awarded the best long-métrage feature film, while Julija Steponaitytė selected the best actress of the year.
