Five trade unions of the Lithuanian educational system start poll about the strike in the next educational year
Unified representation of the trade union of the Lithuanian educational system approved on last Thursday a plan of action, according to which is planned to open in preparations for a strike.
“Before the first day of October, we should be prepared for a warning strike, and in November or December month we should be ready for long limited and unlimited strikes” said Andrius Navitskas, the spokesman of the trade union of the Lithuanian educational system to BNS.
In accordance with the approved plan, during the next 10-15 day surveys should be carried out in schools for permission to strike.
“We believe that this is enough time to convene the school personnel in the all schools in Lithuania and to ask for their opinion regarding the strike. In the first days of September, we will be able to say exactly, if we have the right to strike or not” summarized Navitskas.
Unified representation of the trade unions of the Lithuanian educational system initiates strikes, because the Lithuanian Ministry of Education and Science does not fulfill the requirements which were put in front of them in order to improve the status of the teachers in the Lithuanian schools.
