UN Security Council condemns terrorist attacks in Paris

Members of the UN Security Council which includes Lithuania, a non-permanent member, condemned in the strongest terms, the barbaric and cowardly terrorist attacks which took place in several places in Paris on the evening of the l3th of November 2015, causing numerous deaths and injuries among civilians

The members of the Security Council expressed their deep sympathy and condolences to the families of the victims, as well as to the Government of France. France, along with the United States, the United Kingdom, China, and Russia are permanent members of the Security Council with veto power.

In addition, the members of the Security Council, underlined the need to bring the perpetrators of these terrorist acts to justice. The UN Security Council’s primary responsibility is the maintenance of international peace and security.
