Vilnius (dpa) – Lithuania wants to send new arrivals and returnees from risk areas only ten instead of 14 days in corona quarantine. In addition on 15 September a new regulation is to enter into force, announced Minister of Health Aurelijus Veryga on Thursday in the broadcast.
Until now, people coming to the Baltic EU country from countries with high infection rates have had to isolate themselves for two weeks. Those who are tested for corona after arrival and get a negative result will have to spend four days less alone in the future.
However, final approval by the government is still pending. Lithuania, with its almost three million inhabitants, has so far recorded 3,199 confirmed infections and 86 deaths in connection with the corona virus.
