Football: Stankevicius in German Bundesliga


The captain of Lithuanian football national team, Marius Stankevicius, joins Hannover 96.

German football magazine “kicker” reported that the Lithuanian International signs a one-year-contract in Hannover.

The 33-year-old Stankevicius played for the Turkish Superlig team Gaziantepspor last season.

Before Stankevicius was active in Spain (FC Valencia, FC Sevilla) and Italy (Brescia Calcio, Sampdoria Genova, Lazio).

The transfer got necessary after Andre Hoffmann injured seriously.

Thus the team of coach Tayfun Korkut needed a new alternative in the defense.
