European Athletics Championships: Kanter wins Silver


The Estonian athlete Gerd Kanter won the silver medal in the discus throw competition of the European Athletics Championships in Zurich/Switzerland

With the width of 64,75m the Estonian only was beaten by the German olympic champion Robert Harting (66,07m). Third place took Robert Urbanek (Poland/63,81m).
Lithuanian Oldie Virgilijus Alekna missed the final.

The king of the athletes is Belarussian Andrei Krauchanka (8.616 points). He outpaced Kevin Mayer (France/8.521) and Russian Ilya Shkurenyov (8.498) in the decathlon competition.
Meanwhile James Dasaolu (10,06 sec.) is the new 100m European champion.

Latvian Javelin thrower Madara Palameika missed a Bronze medal and took fourth place in a competition won by Barabara Spotakova /Czech Republic). Russian Sergej Schubenkow repeated his European championships triumph from Helsinki 2012. In 13,19 sec. he was the fastest man on 110m hurdles.
