Europe on Monday agreed to renew glyphosate’s license for five years, ending uncertainty over whether the weedkiller would remain available to EU farmers, according to four diplomats.

The decision was possible thanks to a last-minute change of position by Germany. Berlin’s volte-face outweighed resistance from France and Italy, which both voted against.

Here is the full vote in the Standing Committee on Plants, Animals, Food and Feed, according to three officials in the room.

For: Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, U.K.

Against: Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Cyprus, France, Greece, Italy, Luxembourg, Malta.

Abstention: Portugal.
